PraY
Pray against the abuse of Alcohol.
-From the greatest to the least, Lord, let individuals no longer ‘be given to drunkenness’ (I Tim. 3:3)
-‘Lest they drink and forget what has been decreed and pervert the rights of all the afflicted’ (Prov. 31:5)
-Instead, let them be filled with the Spirit’ (Eph. 5:18)
As the prayer walk path leads upward, pray for wisdom, that many more would follow the Way, the Truth, and the Life. (c.f. Prov. 15:24)
‘When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none… LORD will answer them.’ He says, ‘I will open rivers on the bare heights…’ (Is. 41:17-18)
In these days of famine for hearing LORD’s words (c.f. Amos 8:11):
Pray that we would hunger and thirst for righteousness (Matt. 5:6)
-Ask the Lord to give that water that will becomes in us ‘a spring of water welling up to eternal life’ (Jn. 4:14)
-Ask that we and many more would delight and meditate on His Word and be like a tree planted by streams of water.’ (Ps. 1:3)
‘The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those who published it. (Ps. 68:11)
Pray for all those who preach and teach the Word among the Diné:
-That they would be faithful stewards of God’s Word – knowing that teachers will be judged more strictly (1 Cor.4:2 and Jas. 3:1)
-That words may be given to them in opening their mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel (Eph. 6:19)
-That they would have an anointing from the Holy One for their task, ‘for the kingdom of God does not consist in talk but in power.’ (1Jn. 2:20 and 1 Cor. 4:20)
Jesus spoke many things to the crowds gathered around Him… ‘some fell along the path…others fell on the rocky ground… others fell among thorns… And others fell on good soil…’ (Matt. 13:1-8)
Pray for ears to hear and for the new, soft heart, so that many might hear with understanding (Mk. 4:9, Ez. 36:26, Matt. 13:15)
Pray against the work of the evil one, and in your prayers join with the Son of God to destroy the works of the devil (1 Jn. 3:8)
Pray for more ability to rejoice when persecution arises (Matt. 5:12)
Pray for more ability to throw off every weight, and the sin which clings so closely (Heb. 12:1)
Pray that the Lord would allow each member of the Navajo church to bear fruit a hundred fold; that each day the Lord would add to their number (Mk. 4:20 and Matt. Acts 2:47)
‘Why do You make me see iniquity, and why do You idly look at wrong?
Destruction and violence are before me; strife and contention arise.’ (Hab. 1:3)
We ought always pray and not loose heart (Lk. 18:1)
-Cry to God concerning the violence here in the nation and the persecution against Christians around the world, ‘will not God give justice to His elect who cry to Him day and night?’ (Lk. 18:7)
Pray that the Lord would spread the knowledge of the things which make for peace. Ask Him to make us peacemakers (Lk. 19:42 and Matt. 5:9)
Plead with God to hasten the time promised through Isaiah when violence will not be heard again in your land (Is. 60:18)
You also must help ministers by prayer, so that many will give thanks on their behalf for the blessing granted them through the prayers of many. (2 Cor. 1:11)
Pray that those who preach among the Diné would, like Paul, decide to preach Christ and Him crucified (1 Cor. 2:2)
Pray that ministers would continually remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, as preached in Paul’s gospel (2 Tim. 2:8)
-Lord of the harvest, send out workers into Your harvest; may there be more to speak the truth in love, that the church may grow up in every way into Christ (Lk. 10:2 and Eph. 4:15)
‘First of all… I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions…This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.’ (1 Tim. 2:1-4)
Pray for the Navajo Nation president, that he would rejoice in LORD’s strength and exult in His salvation (Ps. 20:9; 21:1)
-Ask God to revive the Navajo Nation church and keep His people among the Diné from turning back to folly (Ps. 85:6-9)
Pray for the Spirit, promised by the Father, to be poured out on the Navajo Nation – their sons and daughters, the old and young (Acts 1:4; 2:39)
‘And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
And thou shalt teach them diligently to thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sit in thy house, and when thou walk by the way, and when thou lie down, and when thou rise up.’ (Deut. 6:6-7)
-Ask the Lord to restore Navajo family values; that each husband and wife would be faithful to their spouse – That ‘what God hath joined,’ no man would separate (Titus 1:6; Mk 10:9)
Plead with the Lord to turn the heart of Diné fathers to the children and the heart of the children to their fathers (Mal. 4:6)
Pray that those who serve LORD would include the young as well; that Navajo men, women and children would hear and learn and fear LORD. (Ex. 10:9 and Deut. 31:12)
